Monday Music Mix 🎢

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

Welcome to a brand-new week here at Music Beats Central! 🎢☀️

Whether you’re starting the week with a coffee in hand, heading off to work, driving somewhere, or simply looking for some good music to brighten your Monday, welcome back, MBC Fam! ❤️

It’s been a little quieter around here over the past couple of weeks, and I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for sticking with me while things have been a little busy behind the scenes.

I’m sorry I haven’t brought you a new podcast episode during that time. ❤️ I’ve had a lot happening lately, but the good news is that a new episode is coming soon! πŸŽ™️✨

But while we wait for the next episode, I thought we’d kick this Monday off with something fun — six songs from some of Australia's best-known artists! πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸŽΆ

So grab your headphones, turn the volume up and let's get this Monday started!

🎡 6 Aussie Songs To Start Your Week

1. Tina Arena — “Chains” πŸ”₯

Let’s kick things off with an absolute Australian classic!

“Chains” is one of those songs that needs very little introduction. Tina Arena's powerhouse vocals, the dramatic production and that instantly recognisable chorus make it impossible not to sing along.

Whether you've known this song for decades or you're hearing it again after a long time, it still has plenty of energy.

Monday mood: πŸ’ͺ Start the week like you mean it.

2. Jessica Mauboy — “Burn” πŸ”₯

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9edIBvlrlg

Time to bring some serious Aussie pop energy into our Monday!

Jessica Mauboy's “Burn” is one of those songs that immediately lifts the mood. With Jessica's powerful vocals and infectious energy, it's the perfect choice when you need a little extra push to get your week moving.

This is definitely one for turning the volume up and singing along — preferably when nobody is watching! πŸ˜‚

Monday mood: ☀️ Bring the energy and own your Monday.

3. Delta Goodrem — “Born to Try” ✨

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTBOJ71ypRw

Time for some early-2000s nostalgia!

“Born to Try” helped establish Delta Goodrem as one of Australia's biggest pop stars, and it's still a beautiful reminder of just how much music can connect with people through different stages of life.

It also has a lovely message for a Monday: keep going, keep trying and don't be afraid to chase what's ahead.

Monday mood: 🌟 New week, new possibilities.

4. Kylie Minogue — “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” πŸ’ƒ

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c18441Eh_WE

Now we're turning the energy up!

Kylie Minogue's “Can't Get You Out of My Head” is practically a guaranteed mood-lifter. That beat, that hypnotic production and that “la la la” hook...

You know the one. πŸ˜‰

This is the song for when your Monday morning needs a little extra sparkle.

Monday mood: πŸ’ƒ Coffee? Check. Music? Check. Dancing around the kitchen? Absolutely.

5. Vanessa Amorosi — “Absolutely Everybody” 🎀

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rco1QQShM1Y

Let's keep that Aussie energy going with Vanessa Amorosi!

“Absolutely Everybody” is one of those songs that instantly makes you want to get up and move. With its big chorus and uplifting energy, it became one of those memorable Australian pop anthems that still feels right at home on a feel-good playlist.

And let's be honest — if this one comes on, sitting still isn't really an option! πŸ˜‚

Monday mood: 🌈 Forget the Monday blues and just enjoy the music.

6. Human Nature ft. John Farnham — “Everytime You Cry” 🎀❤️

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drf3LhQOFmM

And we're finishing our little Aussie Monday playlist with Human Nature and the legendary John Farnham!❤️

“Every Time You Cry” is a beautiful collaboration that brings together Human Nature's gorgeous harmonies with John Farnham's unmistakable voice. Released in the late '90s, the song became a memorable Australian favourite and showcases just how special a collaboration between these artists could be.

There’s something really lovely about hearing these voices together, making this the perfect song to wind down our Monday mix — especially if you're in the mood for something a little more soulful.

Monday mood: ❤️ Sing along, slow things down and enjoy the moment.

🎢 Your Monday Playlist Is Ready!

So there we have it — six songs from six iconic Australian artists to help get your week moving.

We've gone from Tina Arena and Jessica Mauboy to Delta Goodrem, Kylie Minogue, Vanessa Amorosi and Human Nature ft. John Farnham.

A little pop, a little nostalgia, a little emotion, a little soul and plenty of great Australian music.❤️

And let's be honest — sometimes the best way to start Monday is simply to put on a song you love and sing along.

So turn it up, MBC Fam! 🎧

πŸŽ™️ Until The Next Episode...

While you're enjoying today's music mix, keep an eye on Music Beats Central because there's plenty more coming your way.

I'm putting the finishing touches on the next podcast episode, and I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you. πŸŽ™️❤️

Until then, keep discovering new music, revisit those old favourites and don't forget to share your favourite songs with someone who could use a little musical pick-me-up this week.

Because there's always another song waiting to be discovered.

And that's what I love about music. ❤️

Thanks for spending part of your Monday with me and for continuing to be part of the Music Beats Central family.

Until next time, keep discovering, keep listening and keep going beyond the charts and headlines.

Much love and ciao for now!

Hanan xx πŸŽ™️❤️🎢

Episode 10 Behind the Spotlight - The struggles, stories and resilience behind the music

Hi MBC fam and welcome back!!! Happy Saturday :)

So what happens behind the spotlight?

We see the success. The awards. The chart positions. The sold-out concerts.

But what about everything that happened before?

The rejection.

The setbacks.

The difficult decisions.

The moments when an artist wondered whether they should keep going.

That's what we're exploring in Episode 10 of Music Beats Central.

This week, we're looking at the journeys of four incredible Australian artists who have experienced their own challenges within the music industry — and how they found a way forward.

Sia. The Veronicas. Vanessa Amorosi. Missy Higgins.

Their stories are different, but they all have something in common:

They kept going.

And you'll have to listen to the full episode to hear the stories behind their journeys.

πŸ•Š️ Remembering Two Music Legends

Before we get into the episode, we take a moment to remember two extraordinary people who recently left us.

❤️ Dolly Parton

We remember the incredible Dolly Parton, whose extraordinary career touched generations of music lovers around the world.

From Jolene and 9 to 5 to I Will Always Love You, Dolly created songs that became part of music history.

But her legacy extends far beyond her music.

Her determination, generosity and ability to remain true to herself made her an inspiration to millions.

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Johnny Young

We also remember Australian music and television legend Johnny Young, who passed away on 13 August 2026.

For generations of Australians, Johnny was a familiar face through Young Talent Time, where he helped nurture some of Australia's future stars.

One of those young performers was Tina Arena.

Johnny's contribution to Australian entertainment deserves to be remembered — and his connection to Tina makes his story particularly meaningful in this episode.

🎀 Behind the Spotlight

Sia

Before becoming an international superstar, Sia spent years finding her voice and developing her career.

Her journey took her through performing, songwriting and eventually becoming one of the world's most distinctive pop artists.

But success didn't come without challenges.

Her career involved major changes, difficult decisions and moments of uncertainty.

In Episode 10, we look at some of those moments and how Sia ultimately created a career completely on her own terms.

The Veronicas

Jess and Lisa Origliasso, better known as The Veronicas, became one of Australia's biggest pop success stories.

From 4ever and Everything I'm Not to the international smash Untouched, their music reached audiences around the world.

But behind the success were challenges involving the music industry, creative control and having their voices heard.

Their story shows that even established artists sometimes have to fight for their creative identity.

And their journey is far from over.

Vanessa Amorosi

Vanessa Amorosi has had an incredible career, taking her from Australian stages to international success.

With songs such as Absolutely Everybody, Shine and This Is Who I Am, Vanessa became one of Australia's most recognisable artists.

But her story also reminds us that the music industry doesn't always say yes.

Her Blacklisted Collection brought previously rejected music back into the spotlight.

Sometimes a "no" really isn't the end.

Sometimes it's simply waiting for the right moment.

Missy Higgins

Missy Higgins became one of Australia's most beloved singer-songwriters with songs including Scar, The Special Two and Where I Stood.

But behind the success came the pressures of touring, recording and living life in the public eye.

At one point, Missy stepped away.

And that's an important part of her story.

Because sometimes taking a break isn't giving up.

Sometimes you need to step away so you can find your way forward.

Missy returned to music with a new perspective and continues to create and perform today.

🎢 This Week in Music History

We're also travelling back through music history.

Episode 10 features musical moments involving artists such as:

⭐ David Bowie

⭐ Whitney Houston

⭐ Savage Garden

But we're keeping some of the stories for the podcast...

So you'll have to listen to find out exactly what happened!

🧠 Music Trivia

Think you know your music?

It's time for Music Trivia!

Episode 10 brings back our trivia segment with a mix of Australian and international music questions.

Grab your headphones, play along and see how many you can get right.

And remember...

no cheating! πŸ˜‰

⭐ Artist Spotlight — Tina Arena

🎬 Unravel Me

This week's Artist Spotlight is Tina Arena.

But rather than revisiting Tina's entire career, I've already covered her story in a previous Music Beats Central episode.

This time, I'm sharing my personal experience of watching Tina Arena: Unravel Me.

I saw the documentary on Sunday, and I found it both emotional and incredibly insightful.

It takes us behind the public image of Tina and explores the person behind the voice.

From her early days on Young Talent Time at just seven years old, through the challenges she faced after leaving the show, the struggles within the record industry and eventually her incredible success in France.

What struck me most was Tina's resilience.

When one chapter didn't work out...

she created another.

And sometimes starting again can lead you somewhere you never expected.

That's what made Unravel Me so powerful for me.

And with Johnny Young's recent passing, seeing his connection to Tina's early journey added another emotional layer to the experience.

🎡 Tina Arena — True Faith

Tina's story continues with her beautiful new single True Faith.

The song is her interpretation of the New Order classic.

For me, there's something particularly reflective about hearing Tina perform it.

After watching Unravel Me, I found myself listening to the song differently.

It feels like a song about life, change, experience and moving forward.

But I'll leave my full thoughts and interpretation for the podcast.

πŸ’Ώ Coming Soon — Way of the World

Tina's next chapter continues with her upcoming six-track EP Way of the World, scheduled for release on:

16 October 2026

The project features Tina's interpretations of songs originally recorded by artists including New Order, Max Q/Michael Hutchence, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Ada Mori and Frank Ocean.

There's much more to discover about the EP in Episode 10.

🎢 New Australian Music

Episode 10 also shines a light on some current Australian music, including:

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Natalie Imbruglia

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Budjerah

Two artists from different generations who continue to contribute to Australia's incredible music landscape.

And, of course, you'll hear more about their latest music in the full episode.

❤️ Why These Stories Matter

Every artist has a story.

Sometimes we only hear the successful part.

But the struggle can be just as important.

The rejection.

The setbacks.

The comeback.

The decision to keep creating.

That's why I wanted Episode 10 to be different.

I wanted to go Behind the Spotlight and remind us that artists are people too.

They have doubts.

They experience rejection.

They have difficult days.

And sometimes...

they simply need someone to listen.
