Monday Music Mix 🎶

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

Welcome to a brand-new week here at Music Beats Central! 🎶☀️

Whether you’re starting the week with a coffee in hand, heading off to work, driving somewhere, or simply looking for some good music to brighten your Monday, welcome back, MBC Fam! ❤️

It’s been a little quieter around here over the past couple of weeks, and I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for sticking with me while things have been a little busy behind the scenes.

I’m sorry I haven’t brought you a new podcast episode during that time. ❤️ I’ve had a lot happening lately, but the good news is that a new episode is coming soon! 🎙️✨

But while we wait for the next episode, I thought we’d kick this Monday off with something fun — six songs from some of Australia's best-known artists! 🇦🇺🎶

So grab your headphones, turn the volume up and let's get this Monday started!

🎵 6 Aussie Songs To Start Your Week

1. Tina Arena — “Chains” 🔥

Let’s kick things off with an absolute Australian classic!

“Chains” is one of those songs that needs very little introduction. Tina Arena's powerhouse vocals, the dramatic production and that instantly recognisable chorus make it impossible not to sing along.

Whether you've known this song for decades or you're hearing it again after a long time, it still has plenty of energy.

Monday mood: 💪 Start the week like you mean it.

2. Jessica Mauboy — “Burn” 🔥

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9edIBvlrlg

Time to bring some serious Aussie pop energy into our Monday!

Jessica Mauboy's “Burn” is one of those songs that immediately lifts the mood. With Jessica's powerful vocals and infectious energy, it's the perfect choice when you need a little extra push to get your week moving.

This is definitely one for turning the volume up and singing along — preferably when nobody is watching! 😂

Monday mood: ☀️ Bring the energy and own your Monday.

3. Delta Goodrem — “Born to Try” ✨

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTBOJ71ypRw

Time for some early-2000s nostalgia!

“Born to Try” helped establish Delta Goodrem as one of Australia's biggest pop stars, and it's still a beautiful reminder of just how much music can connect with people through different stages of life.

It also has a lovely message for a Monday: keep going, keep trying and don't be afraid to chase what's ahead.

Monday mood: 🌟 New week, new possibilities.

4. Kylie Minogue — “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” 💃

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c18441Eh_WE

Now we're turning the energy up!

Kylie Minogue's “Can't Get You Out of My Head” is practically a guaranteed mood-lifter. That beat, that hypnotic production and that “la la la” hook...

You know the one. 😉

This is the song for when your Monday morning needs a little extra sparkle.

Monday mood: 💃 Coffee? Check. Music? Check. Dancing around the kitchen? Absolutely.

5. Vanessa Amorosi — “Absolutely Everybody” 🎤

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rco1QQShM1Y

Let's keep that Aussie energy going with Vanessa Amorosi!

“Absolutely Everybody” is one of those songs that instantly makes you want to get up and move. With its big chorus and uplifting energy, it became one of those memorable Australian pop anthems that still feels right at home on a feel-good playlist.

And let's be honest — if this one comes on, sitting still isn't really an option! 😂

Monday mood: 🌈 Forget the Monday blues and just enjoy the music.

6. Human Nature ft. John Farnham — “Everytime You Cry” 🎤❤️

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drf3LhQOFmM

And we're finishing our little Aussie Monday playlist with Human Nature and the legendary John Farnham!❤️

“Every Time You Cry” is a beautiful collaboration that brings together Human Nature's gorgeous harmonies with John Farnham's unmistakable voice. Released in the late '90s, the song became a memorable Australian favourite and showcases just how special a collaboration between these artists could be.

There’s something really lovely about hearing these voices together, making this the perfect song to wind down our Monday mix — especially if you're in the mood for something a little more soulful.

Monday mood: ❤️ Sing along, slow things down and enjoy the moment.

🎶 Your Monday Playlist Is Ready!

So there we have it — six songs from six iconic Australian artists to help get your week moving.

We've gone from Tina Arena and Jessica Mauboy to Delta Goodrem, Kylie Minogue, Vanessa Amorosi and Human Nature ft. John Farnham.

A little pop, a little nostalgia, a little emotion, a little soul and plenty of great Australian music.❤️

And let's be honest — sometimes the best way to start Monday is simply to put on a song you love and sing along.

So turn it up, MBC Fam! 🎧

🎙️ Until The Next Episode...

While you're enjoying today's music mix, keep an eye on Music Beats Central because there's plenty more coming your way.

I'm putting the finishing touches on the next podcast episode, and I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you. 🎙️❤️

Because there's always another song waiting to be discovered.

And that's what I love about music. ❤️

New Music Discovery: Six Artists and Songs to Add to Your Playlist 🎵

Music Beats Central | Going beyond the charts and headlines

Hey MBC Fam! ❤️

Welcome back to Music Beats Central!

Although our podcast episodes come out every Saturday at 12pm AEST, I also love creating extra content through the Music Beats Central blog for all my readers and listeners. It's a chance to explore new music, introduce you to talented artists, and share songs that deserve a place on your playlist.

Music discovery is about more than simply listening to the biggest hits. It's about finding new sounds, supporting artists, and connecting with music that makes us feel something.

For this edition, I've put together six songs from a mix of established artists, collaborations, and music discoveries. From upbeat pop and R&B to string-driven compositions and singer-songwriter releases, there's plenty to explore.

So, grab your headphones, turn up the volume, and let's discover some new music together! 🎧

1. Ne-Yo – Dance Right Now 🎶

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MDRpWfgcjY

A Fresh Dose of Ne-Yo's Signature Style

When it comes to R&B and pop, Ne-Yo is an artist whose name has been part of the music conversation for years. Known for his song-writing, smooth vocals, and ability to create memorable songs, he continues to bring his own identity to his music.

"Dance Right Now" is featured on his Highway 79 album, offering listeners another release to explore from the celebrated artist.

What I enjoy about a song with a title like "Dance Right Now" is the immediate invitation to let go, have fun, and enjoy the music. There's something wonderful about a track that encourages you to put your daily worries aside and simply enjoy the moment.

Whether you're listening at home, driving in the car, or getting ready for a night out, this is a release worth adding to your music discovery list.

Why You Should Give It a Listen

If you're a fan of R&B, pop, and Ne-Yo's musical style, take some time to explore "Dance Right Now" and discover what this latest release brings to his catalogue.

2. Sheppard – Night Drive 🌃

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjX1GrUiWgs

A Musical Journey Under the Night Sky

There is something special about music that makes us imagine a journey. A late-night drive, city lights, an open road, and a song playing in the background can create memories that stay with us.

Australian band Sheppard has established itself through its pop sound and memorable musical approach, making the group an interesting addition to this edition of Music Beats Central's new music discoveries.

"Night Drive" immediately brings a sense of movement and atmosphere to mind. It makes me think about those moments when you can sit back, enjoy the music, and allow yourself to get lost in the experience.

One of the things I love about discovering songs is how each listener can create their own connection. A track that feels perfect for a night out might also become a favourite for a quiet drive or a relaxing evening.

Why You Should Give It a Listen

If you enjoy Australian pop music and discovering artists who bring their own musical identity, give Sheppard's "Night Drive" a listen.

3. Tommy Novak – Running Out of Time 🎤

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LirnQMfdPXc

Discovering an Artist Through His Music

One of my favourite parts of Music Beats Central is discovering artists and sharing their music with our MBC Fam.

Tommy Novak is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter whose music focuses on honest storytelling, vocals, and intimate acoustic performances. His work includes original music from his debut EP, Parallels, and he has also been announced as a contestant on The Voice Australia 2026.

"Running Out of Time" is the song featured in this edition, and its title immediately brings a relatable question to mind: how do we feel when life seems to be moving faster than we can keep up with?

Time, change, personal goals, and the moments that shape our lives can all inspire meaningful musical connections. I enjoy discovering songs that encourage listeners to pause, reflect, and find their own interpretation.

Tommy's music also gives listeners an opportunity to explore an artist who is building a connection with audiences through songwriting and live performance.

🎶 Catch Tommy Novak Live in Batemans Bay!

If you're in the Batemans Bay area, Tommy Novak is scheduled to perform at Starfish Sessions.

4. Maddie Lenhart – Why in the World 🌍

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiHOzvb0h2o

A Song That Sparks Curiosity

Sometimes, a song title is enough to make us stop and wonder what the artist has to say.

"Why in the World" by Maddie Lenhart is a music discovery that gives us an opportunity to explore the work of a songwriter and artist from Nashville.

What I enjoy about music discovery is the chance to come across artists who are developing their own sound and sharing their creativity with listeners. Every song has the potential to create a different connection, depending on the person listening.

Maddie Lenhart is also promoting her debut EP, Why in the World, making this an interesting opportunity to explore more of her music beyond the featured track.

Why You Should Give It a Listen

If you enjoy discovering emerging songwriters and exploring music from Nashville's creative scene, give Maddie Lenhart a listen and see what you discover.

Connect with Maddie Lenhart:

5. Lindsey Stirling & ARKAI – King of Coins 🎻

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q9Wqt4_klI

When Strings Meet Contemporary Music

Let's explore something a little different!

Lindsey Stirling is known for her distinctive violin performances and her approach to blending classical instrumentation with contemporary music. ARKAI brings its own connection to string-based music, making this collaboration an exciting discovery for listeners who enjoy exploring music beyond traditional genres.

"King of Coins" offers an opportunity to discover a collaboration between two artists with a strong connection to instrumental performance.

What I find fascinating about classical crossover is the way musicians can bring traditional instruments into new musical settings. It can introduce listeners to sounds they might not otherwise explore.

Whether you're a fan of Lindsey Stirling, ARKAI, or simply enjoy discovering creative instrumental music, this is a collaboration worth checking out.

Exploring Music That Connects With Life's Questions

Our final discovery in this edition of Music Beats Central takes us to Danielle Spencer and her song "Am I There Yet?"

Sometimes, a simple question can capture a feeling that many of us understand. We all have moments when we wonder about our progress, our dreams, and where we're heading in life.

"Am I There Yet?" is part of Danielle Spencer's Regenerate album, which was released in 2026.

I enjoy the way music can give us an opportunity to reflect on our own experiences. A song can mean something different to every listener, and that is one of the beautiful things about music.

Discovering artists from different backgrounds and exploring their creative work is what makes these blog posts so enjoyable to put together.

Why You Should Give It a Listen

🎶 Friday Feels: 6 Songs to Ease You Into the Weekend

It’s Friday, MBC Fam! 🎉

The week is finally winding down, and whether you’ve had a busy week, a stressful one, a productive one, or a week that simply seemed to fly by, there’s something special about reaching Friday.

That moment when the emails can wait, the alarm clock feels a little less important, and your mind starts shifting from “What do I need to get done?” to “What am I doing this weekend?”

And what better way to make that transition than with music?

Music has a way of changing our mood almost instantly. One familiar beat can make us feel lighter, one chorus can bring back a memory, and one great song can make an ordinary Friday feel like the beginning of something exciting.

So, we’ve put together 6 songs to help ease you out of the working week and into those weekend vibes. 🎧✨

Whether you're heading home, getting ready for a night out, cooking dinner, catching up with friends, or simply putting your feet up, turn up the volume and let the weekend begin.

🎵 1. “Good Times” — Chic

Friday has arrived, and what better way to start the weekend than with a song built around exactly what we're all looking for — good times! 🕺✨

Chic’s “Good Times” is an absolute disco classic, driven by that instantly recognisable bassline and an irresistible groove that still sounds fantastic decades after its release.

It captures that feeling of letting go of the week's stresses, getting together with friends, heading out for the evening, or simply putting your favourite music on and enjoying being at home.

Because sometimes Friday doesn't need a big plan.

Sometimes you just need good music, good company and good times.

Weekend mood: 🪩 The working week is done. Let the good times begin!

🎵 2. “I Gotta Feeling” — The Black Eyed Peas

Few songs capture the anticipation of a big night quite like “I Gotta Feeling.”

Released in 2009, the song became synonymous with celebrations, parties and those moments when you feel like something good is about to happen.

And that's exactly what Friday night can feel like.

You may have plans. You may have absolutely no plans. Either way, there’s something about hearing that opening beat that makes you think the weekend could go anywhere.

Weekend mood: 🥳 Tonight could be a good night.

🎵 3. “Dancing on the Ceiling” — Lionel Richie

Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovo6zwv6DX4

Sometimes the perfect Friday song doesn't need to be about Friday at all.

Lionel Richie’s “Dancing on the Ceiling” brings pure feel-good energy — the kind of song that makes sitting still feel like a challenge.

It's upbeat, joyful and wonderfully nostalgic, making it perfect for that moment when you're officially switching off from the week.

Weekend mood: 💃 Forget the week. Turn the music up.

🎵 4. “Don’t Start Now” — Dua Lipa

Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oygrmJFKYZY

For those who want their Friday vibes with a little more disco-pop attitude, Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” is a perfect choice.

The bassline, the groove and the confident energy make it almost impossible not to move along.

It’s the kind of track that works whether you're getting ready to head out, driving home after work or simply wanting to shake off the week's frustrations.

Weekend mood: ✨ Leave the week behind and step into your own energy.

🎵 5. “September” — Earth, Wind & Fire

Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs069dndIYk

There are songs that don't just play in the background — they change the atmosphere.

“September” is one of them.

With its instantly recognisable opening and infectious rhythm, this Earth, Wind & Fire classic has remained a celebration across generations.

It feels like sunshine, dancing, good company and carefree moments all rolled into one.

And honestly, isn't that exactly what we want from the weekend?

Weekend mood: ☀️ Good music, good people and good memories.

🎵 6. “Walking on Sunshine” — Katrina and the Waves

Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPUmE-tne5U

And what better way to finish our Friday playlist than with a song that practically radiates happiness?

“Walking on Sunshine” is pure feel-good music.

It's bright, energetic and impossible to hear without getting at least a little bit of a smile on your face.

After five days of work, responsibilities and everything else life throws at us, sometimes we simply need a song that reminds us to enjoy the moment.

Weekend mood: 🌈 The weekend is here — enjoy it!

🎧 Your Friday Playlist

So, MBC Fam, here's your Friday-to-Weekend soundtrack:

  1. 🎵 Chic — Good Times

  2. 🎵 The Black Eyed Peas — I Gotta Feeling

  3. 🎵 Lionel Richie — Dancing on the Ceiling

  4. 🎵 Dua Lipa — Don’t Start Now

  5. 🎵 Earth, Wind & Fire — September

  6. 🎵 Katrina and the Waves — Walking on Sunshine

Six songs. Six different moods. One mission:

Leave the week behind and let the weekend soundtrack begin. 🎶

Whether you're heading out, staying in, spending time with family and friends, or enjoying some much-needed quiet time, we hope this little playlist helps you finish your Friday on a high note.

💛 Thanks for Stopping By

Thank you so much for stopping by Music Beats Central and spending a little part of your Friday with us.
